Bob Rugurika is not only the director of Radio Publique Africaine (RPA), the most popular private radio station in Burundi. He is also a forerunner of the fight for freedom of expression, willing to risk his life to reveal the truth. With the RPA, he continues to challenge the regime and they become its enemy number one. When Bob reveals the involvement of president Nkurunziza in the murder of three nuns in a radio report, he is immediately arrested and put in prison. Under international pressure, he is released after a month and a euphoric crowd welcomes him on his return to the RPA. But from then on Bob is continuously threatened and eventually he has to flee the country. However, the other RPA journalists continue the movement Bob started and witness how many Burundians take to the street to defend democracy and fight for justice.
