Road duster is both a hilarious road movie and a bittersweet trip down memory lane for literary pulp writer Frans (Fedja van Huêt) and his favorite character J. Kessels (Frank Lammers). After taking an assignment to find a cheating sausage salesman (Ruben van der Meer), they go on a crazy ride. In an American old timer they travel from the provincial town of Tilburg to the Hamburg Reeperbahn and back. Then, suddenly they find a dead body in the trunk of their car. Easily found, but how to get rid of it?
Flemisch actice Annick Christieans (DE OOGGETUIGE, ANY WAY THE WIND BLOWS) plays the role of Brigit, the object of desire of Frans Thomése’s libido. Romi Van Renterghem debuts as the young Brigit. Also starring are Marc Lauwrijs (CODE 37) as her brother Bertje and Bert Husentruyt (THE BROKEN CIRCLE BREAKDOWN) as Dad de Braaij. Together they are the family De Braaij, who run the Flemish greasy diner Old Times in Tilburg.
Road duster is based on the cult book J. Kessels: the Novel and is written by the Dutch writer P.F. Thomése.
